I have a recommendation that honestly, I had a hell of a time finding access to for myself. It's not anywhere nice online. I had to buy the compact disc to enjoy it for myself on the album Morning, Noon, & The Nite-Liters. This song has a sick, sick groove, high falsetto accent vocals, and a saxophone that rips over the brass section. It’s undeniably energizing and catchy even just repeating the one line “If You Were My Woman.” Everything fits in line with the chorus seemingly singing for this one man expressing his soul for for this lady he’s in love with. The saxophone is the poetry, and it seems like it’s talking for the man. The song ramps up from there and the more I listen to it, the more I get chills. It’s not perfectly played, as you hear flubs in the bass line, but you wouldn’t change a thing. This community is making music together inspired by someone’s one, true, love.

I like music that’s not over compressed, I accept more compression in electronic music, but I don’t like hearing a wall of sound, I like separation. I play da bass, da sax, da keyboards (poorly), da ghee-tar, & I sing (pretty average).
