This I believe is my favorite by The Dirty Projectors. Again, poppy, precise, with space. Plenty of experimental sounds including the featured drums that sound like bubbles. They also throw in a breakdown of bowed instruments after pizzicato strings throughout the rest of the song that reminisces The Beatle’s Sgt. Pepper and Yellow Submarine strings back in the 1960’s after modern recording techniques throughout. I love the classical, clapping, and electronically manipulated music all with a wondering-non melody that explodes into a real catchy almost screaming melody in the chorus.
But the chorus isn’t normal either as you hear the female voices come in with scaling harmonies that can’t sit still. This song plays in my head as Snow White meets the queen from Alice in Wonderland.
